Mary and Bob are both long time Cranford residents having each been part of the community for close to
forty years. As taxpayers they understand how important it is to maximize every dollar spent.
Finance Reform
Mary and Bob will work hard to control expenses.
   • Utilize the professionals in the Municipal Building instead of outsourcing projects to consultants.
   • Create a multi-year spending plan to implement capital improvements.
   • Continue the work of Finance Commissioner Andis Kalnins to keep taxes under the cap.
Public Safety
Mary O'Connor and Bob D'Ambola will work hard to improve public safety.
   • Ensure that staffing is optimized to keep our police on the streets where they are most effective.
   • Work closely with the police and fire departments to meet future staffing needs.
   • Make sure that Cranford has the manpower to respond to all emergency situations.
   • Make appropriate appointments to the office of emergency management so that the right people
are in place and ready to react.
Good Government
Mary and Bob support the recommendations of the 2008 Charter Study.
   • Update the Township Code to reflect the recommendations of the Charter Study.
   • Place the Township Administrator in charge of the day-to day operations of the municipal
departments and staff.
   • Enforce the Township Committee By-Laws.
   • Continue to fight overdevelopment by ensuring the Master Plan ordinances become a priority for
the Township Committee.
   • Increase communications by utilizing Channel 35 and social media.
Flood Mitigation
Mary and Bob support strong flood control measures.
   • Pursue all avenues of flood mitigation.
   • Fight for funding to complete the Lenape Basin project.
   • Implement a schedule of river maintenance including de-silting and dredging.
   • Encourage residential involvement through rain gardens, rain barrels and decreasing impervious
surface.
County Accountability
Mary and Bob believe its time to demand better from Union County.
   • Pursue our fair share from county tax revenues.
   • Support efforts at the state legislative level to cap county taxes.
